Hi friends! I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today!
So it’s still Winspring where Colette & I live and so one day it might be 77 degrees and sunny and the next day it’s 38 and rainy. I do not lie. The weather has some serious mood swings! {Which may or may not cause similar fluctuations in yours truly. SIIIGH.} As a sequel to my last post, I thought it would be fun to chat about some of my favorite non-clothing items that help me feel prepped and ready for Spring {with or without the support of the unpredictable weather}!
Gimme that LIP Service
I am all heart eyes for NYX lip color. My lash-skin-makeup-everything-beauty-go-to-girl {Wanderlux Beauty Co} recommended this to me awhile back when she was helping me refresh my make up palette and I am hooooked.
I have sensitive skin so some brands {even high end brands} will actually chap and irritate my lips but luckily NYX has given me zero issues and I’ve been wearing it every day for several months! I get *so many* compliments on it too! There are LOTS of colors to choose from and they have pencils, lip creams, lip sticks and more! I tend to stick with the pencils, soft matte lip creams and the matte lipsticks because why fix what ain’t broke?! These are some of my current faves:
* Lip Combo | Lip Cream | Matte Lipstick | Lip Cream | Matte Lipstick | Lip Combo
That Spring GLOW Though
As the warmer days start to roll in you probably find yourself wanting to wear short sleeves, capris, shorts and skirts and even sandals from time to time. But chances are, you’re still rockin’ that Winter white on those legs, arms and feet!
No shame but for that smooth, golden, natural glow, I am o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d. with FakeBake Flawless self-tanner. It is great for most skin tones, has that let’s-drink-fancy-drinks-with-paper-umbrellas-at-the-beach smell and it’s Paraben free. It’s also very affordable *( $15 here on amazon) and comes with gloves and a reusable mitt for application. You can make it as dark as you want depending on how you apply it and I-kid-you-not, you’ll have everyone thinking you just came back from that dream vacation! It goes on smoothly and leaves zero streaks! Make sure you apply it as per the instructions though and don’t let anything wet touch it until it’s fully dry. I had some wet hair mishaps in the beginning and let’s just say, I earned my stripes. 🙄
Nail Polish Picks
As I previously mentioned I have sensitive skin. I also am sensitive to different chemicals and have to be careful with any product I use. For nail polish, I really, really, really, like REALLY, love Zoya. There are so many colors to choose from, it stays on well and doesn’t have all the toxins that other nail polish brands have. I typically order it from Amazon where they have every color you can imagine. Here are a few of my forever faves:
* America {because RED} and *Dot {because if that don’t scream Spring, I don’t know what does, amiright?! I mean, can you hear the BIRDS chirping!?!} *Amanda {super neutral and subtle, great for when you have short or uneven nails that you don’t necessarily want to highlight and yet you want that “finished” look}. I’d definitely recommend that you invest in the *base and *top coats because it really makes the color stay on longer!
Long Hair Don’t Care
We all know that Spring’s windy days can totally do a number on the hair. A favorite styling product of mine that seriously helps manage the tangles is * Oribe {ORE+I (like pIg)+ BAY} Run Through Detangling Primer. It’s very light weight, doesn’t dry out your hair, is not greasy and smells amazing! Your hair will be singing Strawberry Wine in the breeze like it ain’t no thang!
As for styling your now non-tangled, breeze-flowin’, Strawberry Wine singin’ hair, PEOPLE, the * Paul Mitchell Neuro Unclipped styling wand is where it’s at. My hair wouldn’t hold curl to save my life but then, like a unicorn jumping over a rainbow, I found this wand! It heats up to 450 degrees {so watch out for burns, LIKE WHOA} and is ALL THE MAGIC IN THE HAIR WORLD. From tight spirals to loose beach waves, this wand can do anything. It’s great for long or short hair. Be careful though because it for real gets hot. If you have fine hair you will not need to heat it to its max to get great results. Mess around with it but start on a lower setting and work up to avoid burning your hair. A little less than magical is the fact that it runs about $100 which could be considered expensive IF {and only IF} it WASN’T the BEST and MOST AMAZING hair tool of your ENTIRE LIFE. TRUST. So, basically, IMO $$$ well spent. 🙂
From lips, to skin, to nails, to hair, I think we got you covered from head to toe for your Spring debut! I hope you love these products as much as I do. Also, if you have any favorite items not mentioned here, share them with us! We would love to know!
Thanks again for hanging with me for a few to chat more Spring favorites and deepest thanks to Colette for sharing her blog space.
Happy happy {hopefully sunny!} day to you!

I just found some new favs! Thanks Angela!
She’s great! Thanks for stopping by!
I’ve been looking for the perfect curling iron to do loose beachy waves. Thanks for the recommendation. Your hair looks amazing!!!
woo! Yah she’s gorgeous! I don’t know how she gets her hair to curl with it being so long! My wand isn’t long enough to wrap my hair!
My hair holds no curl whatsoever — but I love this look!
I’ve been using a flat iron to curl my hair for the last few years but I’ve always wondered if the wands would work any different.
